Charles Karow, age 84, of Corning, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Cedargate Healthcare in Poplar Bluff, Missouri.

Born on June 21, 1941, in Quakertown, Pennsylvania, Charles was the beloved son of Charles Fredrick and Anna Marie (Sturm) Karow. Throughout his life, he dedicated himself to his work as a mechanic and carpenter. Charles proudly served his country as a member of the United States Navy during the Advisory Phase of the Vietnam War. He found great joy in working on cars, woodworking, and riding motorcycles. His commitment extended to his involvement with the Boy Scouts of America, reflecting his dedication to mentorship and community. A devoted Lutheran, his faith was a guiding and cherished part of his life.

On August 14, 1963, Charles married Alice Handwork, with whom he shared 62 wonderful years. He is lovingly remembered by his wife; their daughter, Leigh (Johnny) Debord of Corning, Arkansas; their son, John (Tammy) Karow of Pocahontas, Arkansas; grandchildren Seth (Whitney) Debord, Ian (Danielle) Debord, Landon Karow, Austin Karow, and Payne Swann; and great-grandchildren Cambry and Macklin Debord. Charles is also fondly remembered by many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin sister, Charlotte Shabrach.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, March 29, 2026, at 2:00 PM in the Ermert Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will begin at 3:00 PM with Reverend Rick Hart officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow at Williams Cemetery near Corning.

Charles Karow’s life of dedication, service, and love will be fondly remembered by all who knew him.
